Happy New Year! I pray you are doing well. I’ve had a wonderful week so far. I have not made resolutions, but goals. I feel it is very easy to side step a resolution after January because we all get in the hype of the “New Year”. I feel most of my goals are achievable. Just to let you know, losing weight is on on my list. Although it is not a bad idea to eat healthier. In no particular order my goals are: 1) Start a christian t-shirt design company. 2) Interview successful people and ask how they got where they are. 3) Do more video projects ( I have a few ideas for shows I would love to produce in the San Antonio market).
One of my biggest accomplishments was this blog is a very big accomplishment too. Let me give you a few facts about the blog. I have almost 2,000 views since March of last year. The most view post was “The special day is not going to be happening” followed by “I found the one” . I found it very interesting that the NOT got more views than finding the one. I can tell you deep down in my heart I know God has a plan for me. There is a reason and now that I am out of the relationship I can see more of the picture. I am also very excited to see where God takes us though this blog and interactions of others. God wants us to have him in the center of all of our goals and accompaniments because without him we would be nothing.
What does God say about goals……
The bible has many examples of what we should do with our goals. The first one that comes to mind is Habakkuk 2:2-3 “2 And the Lord answered me:“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
As we read this verse, we should focus on the fact that he wants us to write it down and visualize it with Him and wait for it in His timing. As I was told, everything is in His perfect timing. Yes we might want it NOW, but when it happens it will be perfect.
A good thing to do is start to pray for your goal. In Matthew 21:22 he tells us “22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” If we do not make him the center of our life, he will not bless us. We also need to be prepared for the blessings. I know we have blinders on at times and never see that the blessings are right in front of us.
We need to include the Lord in all we do to please His will as mentioned in Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” When we humble ourselves, and give him the glory all of his blessings will flow from us. Our goals are not from us. They are from Him per a vision or dream He gave us. Instead of taking all the credit for achievements or success, we need to give Him all the credit for what He has given us. What are your goals for the new year? Leave them in the comment box below.
As you go though today, let us not forget who our creator is and what his purpose for our life is. We have goals and dreams let us Include him in them and prosper in His glory and wealth.
Thank you all for joining me on this wonderful adventure as we learn from each other and grow in his blessings. I know I mentioned several of my goals up top. I am always looking for help because we need each other to succeed. If you have a talent that you feel could help me, I would love to talk.
Have a wonderful wonderful first week of 2018!
