When we think of the word family most will start with there parents and siblings. When I think of family most of the times it includes a Godly picture of family. Yes I am also counting all my immediate family but I am also including all my brother and sisters in Christ. That family is huge and I can’t wait to hang out with them in heaven. We do have a chance to hang out here on earth but we all know this is temporary home for us. As we go thought out the day we also need to treat everyone with the love that God gives us. What dose the bible say about family?
The Bible tells us that family is……
The Bible tells u that family is more a big picture than we think it is.
Starting off in John 15:12-17 God tells us “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” In these verses it mentions friends as we work to show them the way they should go in Christ. The way we should be treating them and ministering to them daily. All the lost need friends to show them Christ. If we are not witnessing to them than we will not bear fruit for the lord. When was the last time you told your testimony on what God is doing in your life?
In Acts 16:31-34 He talks about the household knowing Christ. And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God. Most times when we gain one person in a family the others will see a difference in the person and want to know more about the change in them. Than it starts to be a domino affect and the whole household comes to Christ. Most of the times it starts with a child after vacation bible school and trickles down to the parents and older members of the family. Dose you children have friend that need guidance in there life? Why not invite them to a activity where God is presented.
In Matthew 18:19-22 it talks about how we should be praying with our family and how he answers our prayers. “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.” The verses are also talking how we are to forgive our brothers and sisters in Christ if they sin against us, If we do the math 70 X 7= 490. In my terms I use the forgive and forget. I know the evil one will bring bring it up from time to time but know that if God can forgive us of our sins who are we not to forgive others. I am also saying if the situation is bad do not go back to the same situation. What grudges are you holding on or not forgiving someone for doing you wrong?
As we go though today and find ways to witness to our friends and family never forget the true meaning as being Christ centered. Keep praying for each other and following he ways. I am still praying for each one of you and thank you for the continued prayers. I know these subjects that I blog about sometimes are hard to hear but know God has a reason for everything. Below are two previous blog post that will help you though your journey in life.
Have a blessed day,
