Do you ever have those times in your life that you find yourself not knowing from day and night? This week has been one of those times. I have been working at our VBS and I film during the evening then edit at night and early morning. I love what I do so I not saying it a bad thing just very long days. What projects do you have that you are working on that taking more time than you thought it would? What does the Bible say about rest?
What does the Bible say about rest?
I love that in Matthew 11:28-30 it tells us to “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He tells us to come to him because of He the only one that can give us rest. His burden is not heavy but very light. I have comfort in this say because He tells me so.
In Exodus 34:21 He tells us when we are to rest. “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day, you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.” Even He rested after creating the wonderful planet called earth. In return for a hard week, He wants us to rest. Depending on what time of year that can be just sitting and watching a basketball game or football game. Do not force yourself to work so much you are exhausted and can not thank.
The last verse I want to share is Galatians 5:16-17 telling us “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” The flesh is weak but with the spirit, we are strong and can go through a lot. What do you do to relax?
As you go through today and this evening does not forget where God is and what he does for your and all your needs. He will give you strength when you need them.
Thank you for the continued prayers and lifting me and Jen up. We are blessed and excited for where God is taking us. I will leave you with 2 past blogs to help you through your journey of life.
