Dogs, cats or other pets we all love.

Good morning! I pray this post brings you excitement. Today I want to talk about pets. We all have them. Most of the times they are more than a four legged or no legged animal to us. They are our buddy when we are down or need to have a smile put on our face. I am mostly a dog person but since I have been with Jen you have seen a cat side of me (aka seen me with a cat named Ashly. Most of the time we love seeing videos of cats and dogs on youtube or through our social platforms. We also get upset when they are hurting or die on us. We make them part of our families. We spend $36 billion a year on our pets. That is a lot of food, toys, and training for our friends. What does the Bible say about pets?

The Bible tells use about his creatures.

The first time we talk about animals is in Genesis 1:1-31 where he had created them in 20-25.

20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.  21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. 24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”

Then he made man in his image and commanded him to take care of them in verse 26.

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

The Bible also mentions how we are to take care of them and what happens to the when they die. In Ecclesiastes 3:19-21 it tells us “For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return. Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?” This verse is a little difficult for me as most time I have to trace the verse back and understand what was being said In Ecclesiastes David was preaching this is an example for the people to take with them. Most of the verse I mentioned today are very between the word beast and creatures but are talking about the animals on our wonderful planet.

In Conclusion…..

As you do though today let take care of his wonderful creatures of this earth. If you like to start something new for them provide the birds with a bird bath or a bird feeder. If you have squirrels in your yard put up a squirrel feeder. As for your home pets treat them with love and they will return it.
