Have you ever heard the saying that you have a bad temper and need a candy bar to calm you down? Most people have a bad temper and say things they regret. Especially when you have someone cut you off in traffic or someone gets you really upset and words fly out like a bathtub without a stopper. As believers, we need to watch what we say and how we act in public and also at home. Most times in a family setting the little ones will mimic what we do. Ever wonder how a 2-year-old knows so many words or words you do not want them to say?
The Bible says a lot about our tongues being 2 edged sword that can cut to the heart mentioned in James 3:5-8 “So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” Your words are that strong that it can hurt a person for life.
As you go through today, remember that your actions and what you say have a lasting action on who you talk to. Before you start to blurt out a word you will regret maybe stand back and go get that candy bar then come back in a calm matter. We want to lift others up and not tear them down.
I care about each one of you and thank you for checking out my blog daily. I know I do not hear the well done, but I do feel it when I look online and see how many read the blog and where from. It means a lot to me and I do not take this blog lightly.
