Have you ever heard the saying sticks and stones may break my bones, but words would never hurt me. I Had a hard time with this one growing up. Being very different in elementary and jr. High I got picked on almost daily. It was so bad that I switched to another city school district to have less teasing. The words out of your mouth can either lift someone up or bring them down.

The bible talks about our words very clearly in Ephesians 4:29 “29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” As believers of Christ, we need to think before speaking. In Matthew 15:18 he is very outspoken about your words it says “But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.” Matthew also goes on to say in Matthew 12:36 “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.” I surely do not want to be the reason someone stumbles.
As we go through today let us lift each other up. If you Get upset walk away before you speak out with anger and regret the words you used. Or if your child does get you upset don’t lash out, but calmly correct them. Your behavior will reflect on them in the future of their lives.
Have a blessed day,
